Meet the DfE digital standards before 2030.

Problems we fix
The standards feel like a long list with no plan
There are six core standards and plenty of technical detail behind each one. We turn them into a short, costed plan your governors can sign off.
WiFi drops out where lessons need it most
Thirty devices in one classroom will find every weak spot. We survey coverage room by room and fix it so lessons don't stall.
Installs can't disrupt teaching
Cabling, switches and access points go in during the school holidays, with summer slots booked early so the work is finished before September.
What the gap audit covers
We spend about half a day on site, then send a written report that your governors and trust can read.
- Your broadband connection, its resilience and the backup link
- WiFi coverage in every teaching space, measured, not guessed
- Network switches, their age, support status and capacity
- Web filtering and monitoring, and who checks the reports
- Cyber security, including backups, MFA and staff accounts
- Digital leadership and governance, including your technology plan and named roles
What happens next
A report against each standard
Met, partly met or not met, with the evidence for each answer.
A costed plan
Fixes in order of priority, with fixed prices and suggested holiday install dates.
Your choice of next step
Use the plan for budgeting and bids, run it yourselves, or ask us to deliver it.
The six core DfE standards, explained
The Department for Education (DfE) expects every school and college in England to meet six core digital and technology standards by 2030.
The DfE publishes digital and technology standards that describe what good school IT looks like. Six of them are core, and every school and college is expected to meet them by 2030.
The six core standards are: broadband internet, wireless networks, network switching, cyber security, filtering and monitoring, and digital leadership and governance.
Academy trusts are also expected to understand the core standards and be working towards meeting them, as set out in the Academy Trust Handbook.
Check your school against the six core standards
Tick each standard you're confident your school meets today. Nothing you tick is sent anywhere.

All six ticked. A gap audit will confirm you can show the evidence for each.
Book a DfE standards gap auditPer user, per month, or a fixed price per project
Ongoing support is priced per user per month. Audits and installs are fixed-price projects, quoted after the gap audit.

Questions
What are the six core DfE standards?
Broadband internet, wireless networks, network switching, cyber security, filtering and monitoring, and digital leadership and governance. Schools are expected to meet all six by 2030.
How long does a gap audit take?
Usually half a day on site for a single school, followed by a written report. Larger schools and trusts take longer, and we'll give you a timeline up front.
Can installs happen over the summer holiday?
Yes, that's when most of our school installs happen. Summer slots fill early, so we recommend booking the audit in the spring term.
Do you work with academy trusts?
Yes. We can audit every school in the trust to the same template, so the trust IT lead gets one comparable view.
Do you support Google Workspace and Microsoft 365?
Yes, both. ITRev is a Google for Education partner and a Microsoft partner.
